Pour 1 1/2c boiling water over 1 cup oats, let stand until cool.
Mix together:
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. melted margarine
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar

Directions:

Now add rolled oats mixture and beat until blended. Pour in sheet pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35 minutes. Let cool and frost with the topping.

Topping:
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. whole milk
1 c. brown sugar
Cook until thick. Remove from heat and add 1 tsp. vanilla. Pour over cake while warm.
