1/4 c. margarine
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/8 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 c. mashed ripe bananas

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside. Cream margarine in another bowl while gradually adding sugar; add and mix eggs one at a time. Slowly add dry ingredients and buttermilk to creamed mixture. Add bananas and vanilla last, stirring gently. Pour mixture into a 9x13 pan and bake in a 350F oven for 40 minutes or until done. When cool, frost cake with cool whip or desired icing, may top with sliced bananas.
