Ingredients:  
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
2 c. applesauce
2 t. baking soda
1 t. each of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg & salt
4 C. flour
1 pkg of choc. chips
nuts if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening and sugar first, then add the rest of ingredients. Bake at 400 degrees for 9 - 12 minutes.
