Ingredients: Ingredients: 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 stick butter, cold ½ cup vegetable shortening ¾ cup granulated white sugar ¾ cup packed brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 large eggs 2 cups (12 oz. package) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels 1 cup chopped Walnuts (optional)

Directions:Pre-preparation: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Gather and measure all ingredients. Gather all equipment. When this is done, you have assembled your mise en place.
Preparation: 1. In a small mixing bowl, combine well the flour, baking soda and salt. Use a whisk for this.
2. Using the Kitchen Aid Mixer and the flat beater paddle attachment, beat butter, margarine/shortening, granulated white sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract until creamy.
3. Add eggs, one at a time, to the butter mixture beating well after each addition.
4. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
5. Stir in chocolate morsels and nuts.
6. Drop by rounded Tablespoon or small scoop onto ungreased baking sheets.
7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes.
9. Remove to wire racks to cool completely. Enjoy!
