1 1/4 cup all- purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
6 slices bacon, crisp-cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350º Lightly grease cookie sheets. Combine flour, salt and baking soda in medium bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar in large bowl with electric mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla: beat until well blended. Add flour mixture; beat until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips, bacon and walnuts. Drop tbsp of dough 2 inches apart onto cookie sheet. Bake 15 to 18 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on cookie sheets 1 minute Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
