2 c dried Navy Beans
12 c water
1 ham bone
2 1/2 c mashed cooked potatoes
2 tsps salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 large onion (about 1 cup chopped)
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 large garlic clove, finely chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Heat beans and water to boiling. Boil uncovered 2 minutes, remove from heat. Cover and let stand 1 hour. Add ham bone. Heat to boiling, reduce heat, cover and simmer about 2 hours or until beans are tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 1 hour. Remove ham bone. Remove ham from bone and cut into bite-size peices. Stir into soup.
