4 c. - flour
tsp. - ground cloves
tsp. - nutmeg
tsp. - salt
1 tsp. - cinnamon
1 lb. - gum drops-omit black (2 c.)
1 lb. - whole pecan meats, fried in butter (2 c.)
1 c. - butter
2 c. - sugar
2 - eggs, beaten
1 c. - applesauce.
1 tsp. - baking soda
1 tsp. - water
1 tsp. - vanilla

Sift the first 5 ingredients onto the raisins, nuts, & gumdrops. Cream the butter and sugar. Beat the eggs and apple sauce together. Then add alternately with flour to butter and cream mixture. Dissolve baking soda in water & then add vanilla. Add to mixture. Place in small bread pans. Bake at 275 for 2 to 3 hours.
