3 lbs dry or 1 #10 can pinto beans
2 lg cloves garlic
2 lbs pork sausage (1 med, 1 hot)
1 green pepper chopped
1 lg onion chopped
salt and peppeer to taste
1 c milk
8 oz sour cream
bacon grease if available if not use cooking oil

Directions:
Directions:
Cook beans and garlic until done.
Fry sausage, green pepper and onion until done.
Mash beans into large frying pan (cast iron pan works the best) and add sausage mixture. Add about a cup of bacon grease, and 1/2 to 1 cup of milk, cook beans for at least 1-2 hours until the grease and milk have cooked down and beans are no longer runny and are nicely browned, the original recipe adds sour cream about 5 minutes before you remove from stove. I prefer it without.
