36-38 maraschino cherries, drained

Chocolate dough:
1 ½ cup flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking powder
1 ¼ tsp baking soda
½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 ½ tsp vanilla

Frosting:
1 cup choc chips
½ cup sweetened condensed milk
½ tsp salt
1 to 1.5 tsp maraschino cherry juice

Directions:
Directions:
For dough: cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy. Gradually add dry ingredients until dough is formed. Shape chocolate dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Put one cherry in each ball. Prepare frosting in double boiler over low heat immediately. Frost each cherry by spreading ½ tsp over each cherry. Bake frosted cookies at 350 deg for 8-10 min or until puffy. Store tightly covered.
