1 c sugar
1/2 c soft butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 3/4 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp milk
1/2 c sliced almonds, chopped
Icing: 1 c confectionary sugar
1/3 tsp almond extract
1-2 tbsp milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and butter, beat in egg and extract. Combine dry ingredients and add to cream mix. and mix well. Divide dough into fourths and form into 12 x 3 in rectangles. Place 5 in apart on greased baking sheets. Brush with milk and sprinkle with almonds. Bake 325 for 18-20 minutes or until firm to touch and edges lightly brown. Cool on pans for 5 minutes and then cut diagonally into 1 in slices. Remove to wire racks to cool. Combine icing ingredients and drizzle over bars.
