3/4 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda and salt
1 c quick oats
1/2 c butter or margarine (I use margarine)
1/4 c brown sugar
1/2 c sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 c chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º.

Mix dry ingredients. Beat butter until creamy. Add sugars and beat till light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture and stir in chips.

Drop by rounded tsp 2" apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 12 minutes.

These cookies have been sent all over the world to exchange students that loved them when they lived with us. For a long time, I added chocolate covered caramels to them and they were a real hit. But at some point, Hershey's quit make them. I even wrote to the company to say that I NEEDED them, but they didn't respond.
When Karie's shop was on 14th street, I made them for the coffee shop next door to her. They sold quickly.
