1 box Devils food cake mix
1/2 c shortening
2 eggs

Filling
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 c butter
2 tsp vanilla
2-4 c icing sugar

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Cookies:
1- mix all ingredients and roll into dime sized balls
2- drop into greased cupcake pan, pressing down slightly in center
3- bake for 7 minutes

Filling:
1- mix all ingredients till smooth
2- spread on flat side of half the cookies
3- find similar size cookie to match and sandwich to one with filling.
** makes enough filling for 2 batches of cookies

I think these cookies started with Auntie Gwen and Morgan tweaked them a bit. I do like this recipe even more as it doesn't have oil in it. This would likely be one of Mitchell's favorite cookies!
