1 8oz. package dried apples
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups sifted self rising flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cook apples, mash, add sugar and chill. Cut shortening into flour, add 1/2 cup cold water. Knead til smooth. Roll saucer sized circles about 1/8 inch thick. Place apples in center, fold, trim and seal with some water. Press decorative edges with a fork. Fry in butter or lard til lightly browned. Turn only one time.
