4 1/2 sticks margarine (1 pound, 2 ounces)
4 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar + 2 Tbsp.
2 eggs

3/4 cup raspberry or strawberry jam.

Chopped walnuts or pecans.

Directions:

Cream margarine and sugar together. Add eggs and flour.

Put in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Roll out and cut with round cookie cutters. Cut a hole in the middle of half of the rounds with thimble.

Brush top cookies with mixture of 1 beaten egg white, chopped nuts, vanilla and 2 Tbsp. sugar.

Bake 11 minutes or golden. After baked, spread cookie with scant teaspoon of jam and put cookie with hole on top.
