5 cups flour.
1 tsp. soda.
1/4 cups sugar.
1/4 tsp salt.
3 tsp baking powder.
1 cup shortening.
1 cake yeast.
2 cups buttermilk.
2 tbsp warm water.

Directions:
Directions:
Crumble yeast into 2 tbsp warm water and stir until yeast is dissolved. Stir yeast mixture into 2 cups milk. Mix with dry ingredients and roll out and form into balls the size of golf balls. Let rise to twice its hieght. Lightly brush tops with melted butter. Bake in 350 degree oven for approx. 35 minutes.

I used to show up at Aunt Hazel's house when she would take these from the oven nice and hot. She would butter one for me and we would have a feast. I loved the smell and the taste.
