1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter. softened
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 tsp orange zest
2 Tbls orange juice
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups chopped fresh cranberries
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Topping:
1 tsp orange zest
4 to 5 tsp orange juice
2 1/4 cups confectioners sugar

Preheat oven to 400º
With mixer, cream together butter, white and brown sugar until combined. Beat in egg until blended. Mix in 1 teaspoon zest, 2 tablespoons orange juice and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the orange mixture. Mix in chopped cranberries and pecans. Drop dough by tablespoon onto parchment lined cookie sheet. Space at least 2 inches apart. Bake 14-16 minutes, until edges turn golden. Remove to rack to cool.
Combine 1/2 teaspoon orange zest, orange juice and confectioners' sugar. Spread on top of cookies. Let stand until sets.

I use Tablespoon cookie scoop. (spray scoop with Pam lets dough come out of scoop easy)
I find that frosting cookies while cookies are still warm lets the frosting go on easier.
