Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup Butter (or margarine)
1 c. Brown Sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. flour
3 c. quick rolled oats

Directions:
Directions:
Mix as per usual. Roll into rolls. Chill till firm (about an hour or overnight. It's ok if they are frozen before slicing). Slice in about 1/4 inch slices and bake at 350ºF. After cooling, prepare dates and stick cookies together with date mix. Store or freeze in an air-tight container.

Dates: Cut 1 package pitted dates into cubes and place in a pot with a small (just enough to make mixing of dates easier) amount of water. Heat on stove on medium until the dates incorporate the water and make a more spreadable mixture.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
These cookies have been a family favorite for many years. I often make them as a treat at Christmas.
