3 egg whites (room temperature)
dash of salt
almond extract
3/4 c sugar
1/4 c sliced almonds
1/2 pt heavy cream
12 maraschino cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Mix 1/4 c water and sugar in pan. Stir over low heat to dissolve sugar and boil until it hairs. Beat egg whites until stiff and pour into sugar/water mixture. Beat until stiff. Refrigerate 30 minutes. Chop almonds fine and add 1 1/2 tsp almond flavoring to almonds and set aside. Beat heavy cream, add 1/4 tsp almond extract and 3/4 tsp vanilla. Fold into egg whites. Pour into paper lined cupcake tins. Add cherry to top of each and sprinkle with chopped almonds and freeze. When frozen remove from tins and rewrap and freeze. Take out just before serving.
