2 c. sliced okra
1 small onion
1 c. Buttered breadcrumbs, divided
2 T. melted butter or margarine
1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients except 1/4 cup breadcrumbs. Spoon into a lightly greased 1 1/2 quart casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with reserved buttered breadcrumbs and bake 5 more minutes.
