2 ½ cups sugar
1 lb butter
3 eggs
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
3 tsp vanilla
7 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, butter and eggs. Add 6 cups of flour, soda, salt, and vanilla. Mix well. Add additional flour if needed. Refrigerate dough for an hour if possible. Roll out thick (¼" at least). Cut out shapes and place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350º for 8 - 10 minutes. Watch closely. Remove cookies when they just start to show brown on edges, or they will overcook and be crispy instead of soft. Allow baked cookies to sit on the sheet and cool for a few minutes before moving them to the cooling rack.

This recipe makes a TON of dough.
