3 square oz Bakers unsweetened chocolate
1 c. butter
4 eggs
1½ c. sugar
4 c. flour
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Frosting:
1 square unsweetened chocolate
5 tbsp. butter
¼ c. milk
½ c. white sugar
1½ -2 c. powdered sugar

Note for a substitution:
3 tbsp. cocoa plus 1 tbsp. shortening equals 1 square of chocolate.

Directions:
Directions:
1. Melt chocolate and butter in a thick saucepan on the stove.
2. In a separate bowl, beat eggs well. Add the sugar. Mix.
3. Add egg/sugar mixture to chocolate/butter mixture. Mix.
4. Add flour, salt, and vanilla. Mix well.
5. Drop 1 small tsp. of batter on each section of a waffle iron heated to meduium. (Can drop more if bigger cookies desired.) Bake 1 minute or until done.
6. Cool and frost with the frosting recipe below.

Frosting:
1. Melt together chocolate, butter, and milk.
2. Add white sugar and powdered sugar.
3. Frost cookies while cool or warm.
