¾ c shortening
¼ c plus 2 tbsp boiling water
1 tsp salt
2 c flour (sometimes I use 1 c wheat flour/1 c regular flour)

Hot Water Pie Crust
1) Put shortening in large bowl.
2) Soften it with boiling water
3) Whip and blend a few minutes
4) Add salt
5) Add flour
6) Knead together with hands until all flour is included
7) Divide in half
8) Roll out between two sheets of waxed paper

Christmas at Grandma Fern's always included lots of pies. There would be a pumpkin and apple pie, but I also remember her making the best berry pies.
