1½ c. Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
½ tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Ginger
1 tsp. Cinnamon
¼ tsp. Cloves
4 T. Butter
⅔ c. Brown Sugar
⅔ c. Molasses
⅔ c. Boiling Water
1 Egg

Pre-heat oven to 350º
Grease and flour pan.
In a bowl stir together the flour, soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, cloves.
In a separate bowl add the brown sugar, molasses, butter, and boiling water. Whisk till melted.
Add egg. Whisk till combined.
Pour in pan and bake for 35-40 min.
 

Brown Sauce

3 c. Brown sugar
6 T. Flour
Pinch of salt
2½ c. Water
4 T. Butter
1 tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combing sugar, flour, and salt in pan.
Stir in water and butter.
Bring to boil over med-high heat. Boil until thicker and more clearer, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla.
