Ingredients:
5 Cups Flour
1 Cup Sugar
6 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp salt
½ Cup currants
1 ½ Cups steamed raisins
2 Cups Milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients together, add currants and steamed raisins (I just put the raisins in a pan and bring to a boil for about a minute, then drain).

Add milk and stir, this is a tough batter, but I don’t use a mixer.

Grease large cast iron frying pan. Add dough, spread out as best as possible.

Bake at 350º F for ½ hour, then lower oven to 275º F for ½ hour.

Test for doneness, if not done bake for 5-10 minutes more.

Let cool a minute and then rub butter on top.

Let cool about 10 minutes in pan, then remove from pan and cool on rack.

Enjoy!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
