1 1/3 cup oatmeal
1 1/3 cup all purpose flour
½ cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder
½ cup white sugar
1 tsp baking soda
½ cup chopped nuts
¼ tsp salt
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips (I use milk choc)

Directions:
Directions:
Layer ingredients in a 1 quart jar in the order they are given.
Press each layer firmly in place before adding the next one.

Include the following on a recipe card.

Preheat oven to 350. Grease cookie sheet. In mixing bowl, cream ½ cup butter or shortening, 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla. Stir in the entire contents of jar. May have to use hands to mix. Shape into small balls. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake 11-13 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet to cool on wire rack. Makes approximately 3 dozen.
Decorate lid to suit occasion.
