Directions:
Guar gum is actually a vegetable gum commonly used as a thickening agent in various foods. Consequently, guar gum can usually be purchased at your local health food store. Otherwise, you will have to contact Flinn Scientific company at (800) 452-1261 and purchase 50 grams –approximately $5.00. The Borax solution recipe is the same as the one used in making Goofy Putty. You’ll mix 5 grams of guar gum with 1000ml of water. The water should be slightly heater and the guar gum should be mixed in slowly to avoid clumping. You may request complete directions and a detailed explanation of the chemistry involved by contacting the Flinn Scientific Company.
