1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 1/2 Pounds ground beef or chuck
1 pkg onion soup mix
1 cup bread crumbs
1 tbsp worchestershire
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 onion sliced
2 cloved garlic chopped
3 cups beef stock
1 tbsp corn starch

Directions:
Directions:
mix ground beef with onion soup mix, egg, breadcrumbs, milk and worchestershire. Mix well until combined.
Form mixture into oval patties.
Heat oil medium-high heat and brown patties on both sides. Set aside.
Melt butter and sautee onions and mushrooms until soft.
Add garlic, onion powder and garlic powder.
Mix cornstarch in 1/4 cup beef broth and add to pan. simmer until mix starts to thicken slightly.
Add remaining beef broth. Salt and pepper to taste.
Place patties back into liquid and turn heat to medium-low.
Simmer covered for 45 minutes. Baste patties occasionally.
Uncover and continue simmering until as thick as you like.
Serve with mashed potatoes or open faced on bread.
