1 egg
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

Cream shortening and sugar, add egg, and vanilla. Beat this, add flour, alternating with milk.
Pour into well oiled loaf pan.
Bake at 375º for 35 minutes
