Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 egg
A couple teaspoons of your favorite milk (we like coconut milk)
Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract
Half a teaspoon of cinnamon
1 slice of bread
Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, or any other berries you like
Honey
Blue and red sprinkles
Olive oil or Pam

Directions:
Directions:
Beat the egg, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon together in a bowl. Soak the slice of bread in the egg and milk mixture. I prefer whole wheat, whole grain bread but any bread is fine. Spray a pan with olive oil or Pam and heat between medium and low. Once the bread is saturated, place in pan. Sprinkle red and blue sprinkles on top (little boys are great at this part)! Flip and add sprinkles to the other side. Right before you take the pan off the burner, I like to add a couple handfuls of blue and red berries to the pan to heat them up. This makes the french toast taste more like cobbler than breakfast! Transfer toast and berries to a plate and add honey and more sprinkles. You'll have a delicious and lovely 4th of July treat!

Feel free to garnish with powdered sugar, more cinnamon, whip cream, or syrup!

Personal Notes:
My boys love putting sprinkles on anything and this is a recipe we came up with together this July. We eat french toast with fruit in our house for breakfast and lunch as it's delicious and a great way to sneak some extra protein into a meal.
