8 lb. marrow
6 lb. sugar
4 lemons
2 oz. grated ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Peel & cut marrow in small pieces, cut lemon in thin slices, cover with the sugar, and stand 24 hours. Boil until marrow is transparent.

This is a recipe of my grandmother's (Kathleen Alice James, née Hobbs). She wrote it out in her trademark green ink to send to her brother John, probably some time in the early 1950's. John's daughter Gillian found it, and sent it to me.
