¼ c butter (do not substitute)
¼ c shortening
½ c icing sugar
4 tbsp sugar (divided)
1 tbsp red chili peppers (ground)
1 tbsp vanilla
½ tsp salt
½ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp baking powder
1 c flour
½ c walnuts (finely chopped)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and shortening with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons sugar, ground chili, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, and baking powder; beat until combined. Stir in flour and walnuts.

Shape the dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 tablespoons granulated sugar in a small bowl. Roll balls in sugar and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten balls until 1/4-inch thick using the bottom of a glass.

Bake in a 325ºF oven about 15 minutes or until edges are light brown.
