2 C flour
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C butter or margarine cold
1 egg beaten
1/2 C milk
raspberry or strawberry jam

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Make a well in centre. In another bowl beat egg until light and frothy. Mix in milk. Pour all at once into the well. Stir lightly to form a soft dough. Add more milk if needed. On floured surface, knead dough 8-10 times. Pat or roll out 3/4 inch thickness. Using round cookie cutter, push down straight to cut. Put on greased baking sheet. Make a deep hallow in top of each biscuit. Drop spoonful of jam in each one. Bake at 450º for 12-15 minutes. Serve Hot!
