3 cups sifted flour (IMPORTANT)
2 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 pt. command sour cream
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. lemon extract (optional)
1 cup stick margarine
6 eggs (separated)

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream margarine and sugar thoroughly, add egg yolks one at a time, beat.
2. sift flour 2 times with baking soda and baking powder.
3. Add flour and sour cream alternately, then lemon extract to margarine and sugar mixture.
4. Beat egg whites stiff and fold into mixture.
5. Bake in a greased and floured tube pan (large size) on 300º for about 90 minutes. It should have a nice brown crust on top.
6. Turn cake over and out of pan on to a cooling rack immediately after taking it out of the oven.
