1 whole chicken or chicken parts
1 medium onion, sliced
2 celery stalks, cut into pieces
1-2 garlic cloves
6-7 peppercorns
4-5 whole carrots
4 tablespoons chicken base or bouillon cubes
2 cups rice, uncooked

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cover chicken with water
2. Add onion, celery, garlic, peppercorns, and carrots
3. Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer until chicken and carrots are done
4. Take chicken and carrots out of broth and put aside; strain broth
5. Return broth to the pan and bring to a boil
6. Add rice, simmer and stir occasionally until all cooked, about 25-30 minutes
7. Cut up carrots and chicken and add back to rice mixture
