Ingredients: |
Ingredients: 1/4 c. shoyu or tamari soy sauce (we always use tamari or soy sauce) 2 tbsp. toasted sesame oil 2 tsp. grated fresh ginger 1 package of firm tofu
|

Directions: |
Directions:Combine the shoyu or tamari, sesame oil and ginger in a jar with a tight fitting lid (we use a pyrex with a lid) and shake ingredients together until well combined. Let the marinade stand for at least 2 hours (or at least 30 mins.). Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Press any excess liquid from the tofu (we often skip this step). Cut each block lengthwise into 3 pieces then cut in half crosswise to make 6 pieces (we usually do smaller cubes). Brush all sides of the tofu slices with the marinade (we usually just throw the marinade over the tofu in a dish with a cover and turn the dish upside down to make sure all sides are coated - we find it easier than brushing each piece individually).
Place the tofu slices on a baking sheet (we use a pyrex). Bake for 15 minutes then turn the slices over and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes (we usually don't bother turning them over and just bake the whole thing for 30 mins.). |

Notes: Serve the grilled tofu in salads, sandwiches and vegetable and grain dishes (we love it over salads or mixed with soba noodles). Any unused marinade will keep refrigerated for up to 4 weeks.
