Step 1:
1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 apples

Step 2:
2 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/3 cup soft margarine
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 cup milk

Step 3:
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 Tbsp. firm margarine or butter

Step 1:
Heat oven to 350 º F.
Melt 1/4 cup margarine in 9x9 pan.
Sprinkle with 1/2 cup brown sugar.
Cover with 2 thinly sliced apples.

Step 2:
Beat the following ingredients in large bowl on low speed for 30 seconds. Then beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
2 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/3 cup soft margarine
1 egg
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
Spread batter over apples.

Step 3:
Mix the following until crumbly
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 Tbsp. firm margarine or butter
Sprinkle over batter and bake about 50 minutes.
Invert pan immediately and let butterscotch drizzle down.
