1 c. butter
1/2 white sugar
1/2 brown sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tbsp. water
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped English walnuts
2 egg whites
1 c. brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, 1/2 c. white sugar, and 1/2 c. brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks and water and mix well. Add sifted flour, baking powder and baking soda and beat well. Press with hands into a pan 11 x 15 inches. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Beat egg whites until they are stiff. Beat in brown sugar gradually. Spread over chocolate chips and nuts lightly and carefully. Bake in a moderate oven at 350 degrees, for 25 minutes.
