1/2 lb. pasta- spaghetti, linguini, or fettuccini
1 onion, diced
6 strips of bacon, slivered while slightly frozen
1 c. frozen baby peas (Do not use canned)
1 c. Half & Half, or milk and cream, or Lactaid milk
2 t. cornstarch slurry made with 2 T. cold water added
Grated parmesan for garnish
salt and pepper to taste

Start to boil water for pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, sauté bacon in a medium frying pan. When half way cooked, add diced onions and continuing cooking. Add frozen peas to pasta boiling when there is three minutes left on the cooking time. To the bacon and onions add slurry, stirring to thicken evenly. Stir in cold milk. If it doesn't thicken right away make a little more slurry and stir into mixture. Pour sauce into drained pasta and peas stirring gently to combine. Serve with vegetable or salad of your choice. Pass the parmesan cheese. Salt and pepper to taste if desired.
