"Plain fresh bread, its crust shatteringly crisp. Sweet cold butter. There is magic in the way they come together in your mouth to make a single perfect bite."--Ruth Reichl

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
12 eggs
2 lb brown sugar
4 c. sugar
3 tsp vanilla
3 tsp white corn syrup
1 lb chocolate chips
8 tsp baking soda
4 sticks of butter, melted
3 lb peanut butter
18 c. quick oats
1 lb M&Ms

Directions:
Directions:
In an extra large bowl, combine eggs, sugars, vanilla and syrup. Mix well. Add soda, butter, and peanut butter. Mix again. Add oats and mix. Add chocolate chips and M&Ms. Mix as well as possible. (Use the Mini-M&Ms if you can find them!)

If baking immediately, place desired amount flattened on to an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. DO NOT OVER BAKE!

If freezing, place some of the dough in a quart sized ziploc and flatten it before freezing. If you do this, you can open the bag and the dough can be sliced into cookie sized portions the next time you are ready to bake.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is Mrs. Seifried's famous recipe. She shared it with me and we make these every October. We make two double batches when we cook. We use a 5 gallon bucket and a drill with a paint mixer on the end to stir up our batter. When we finish, we usually have enough batter for 40 dozen cookies!
