1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sour milk
3 cups flour
3/4 cups molasses
3/4 cup melted shortening
2 eggs,well beaten
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine eggs,sugar,shortening,and molasses.Stir flour,Measure and sift with baking soda,salt and spices.Add alternately with milk to the mixture.Beat until well blended.If desired add 1 cup chopped raisins to batter.Pour into well oiled pan.Bake at 350 degrees about 40 to 45 minutes.It may be sliced in two layers and marshmallows placed close together between layers.Cut in squares and garnish with whipped cream.
