5 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons salt (or use self-rising flour and omit baking powder and salt)
1 1/2 cups butter (3 sticks)
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, add sugar, beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla and then flour. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Roll out until 1/8" thick. Cut using floured cookie cutters. Bake at 400º F for 6 minutes.
