1/2 C. Crisco
1/2 C. Butter
3 C. Sugar
4 Eggs
3 C. Flour
1 C. Buttermilk
1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
1½ tsp. Vanilla or Lemon Extract
Nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
In large mixing bowl, cream together Crisco and butter. Add sugar and eggs, one at a time, and mix well between each addition.

Put in baking soda in buttermilk. Add to mixture the buttermilk mixture and flour alternately; mix well.

Add extract. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg. Bake at 325º for 1 hour or until done.
