1 pkg dry yeast
1/4 c warm water
2 1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/8 c sugar
1/2 c shortening
1 C buttermilk or milk

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside. Mix dry ingredient in given order, cutting in the shortening with a knife ( to make small pieces).gh on
Stir in buttermilk and the yeast water mixture. Blend thoroughly and the dough is ready to be refrigerated in a covered bowl OR made into biscuits.
Roll out dough on floured cutting board, Cut with round cutter or use a glass to make biscuits, Let biscuits rise about 30 minutes then bake in pre heated oven at 375 degrees until lightly browned.
