2 T flour
1/8 tsp pepper
1 lb beef, bottom or top round, tip or chuck steak, 1/2 inch thick
1 T shortening

2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 small can mushrooms, drained
1 package Lipton onion soup mix

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix flour and pepper.
2. Sprinkle flour mixture onto beef, and pound in.

3. Turn and repeat with the other side.
4. Cut into 4-5 serving pieces.

5. Heat shortening in 10" skillet.
6. Cook beef over medium heat until brown.

7. Mix cream of mushroom soup, mushrooms, and soup mix.
8. Add 1/2 c water and mix again.

9. Pour over beef. Heat to boiling, reduce heat.
10. Cover and simmer until beef is tender, 45-60 minutes.
