3-4" washed pickling cucumbers

2 c sugar
4 c apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp alum
2 c water
2/3 c rock or pickling salt
Garlic or onion

Directions:
Directions:
1. Wash cucumbers and place in ice water for 3-4 hours; Drain.

2. Mix remaining ingredients,
3. Bring to a boil until salt and sugar are dissolved.

4. Place a generous amount (2 heads) of dill into jars.
5. Add 3-4 cloves of garlic to each jar.

6. Fill jar with whole cucumbers.
7. Fill jars with pickling liquid to 1/2" from the top.
8/ Seal and place in hot water bath for 5 minutes.
