2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together all dry ingredients. Cut shortening in with pastry blender until the size of peas. Add buttermilk, mix well, put on floured board and kneed together, put into a round disk about 1/2 - 3/4 in. thick. Cut with a 2 in. round cutter. Bake at 425 degrees about 10 minutes or until brown. Makes about 8-10 biscuits.

Moms biscuits are the Holy Grail of everything good. Smothered in sausage gravy that is. Funny thing is I have never seen her use a measuring spoon or cup. So it's going to take a lot of practice to get them to taste like hers. Think she does that for a reason??? LOL
