1 box cake mix, any flavor
8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 cup butter, room temperature
1 large egg
1 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
1 cup any -add-ins (flavored chips, candy, nuts, etc.) amounts can be varied and mixed for chocolate chips I add a 12 oz. bag of semisweet chips

Preheat oven to 375º.
Cream together butter and cream cheese. add egg and vanilla, mix until well blended.
Stir in cake mix a little at a time until it's all blended ( I use a mixer for this part only),
and then add any chips, candy or nuts, as you like

Spoon onto cookie sheet and bake for 12 minutes, until edges are brown. they do not spread out to much while baking.
Cool and try to store them, if any are left.

I love these because they can be made in so many ways. Spice cake is the one that Joe likes the best sometimes with raisins and nuts. During the holidays they make for great gifts. This way you are not making the same ones all the time.
