"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Allen's Salad, by Allen Eglinton, is from The Schuldt Family Cookbook,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 head cauliflower, cut up 1 c. frozen peas, rinsed and drained 1 small red onion, sliced 1 can sliced water chestnuts 1 bag shredded sharp cheddar cheese tomato cut in chunks sour cream mayonnaise dry ranch dressing
Combine all vegetables and cheese (I use sliced radishes rather than water chestnuts). Mix together the sour cream, mayonnaise, and dry ranch dressing. Combine with the vegetables and mix well. Refrigerate.
You can add additional vegetables that you like. You don't have to stay with the original recipe.
