1 cup butter
1 beaten egg
¼ t salt
2 cups sifted flour
1 cup sugar
½ t baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar and salt. Add egg and beat. Fold in flour and soda. Knead well, adding more flour if necessary to make stiff. Shape into 3 rolls and place in refrigerator overnight or until chilled. Slice and put on an ungreased cookie sheet. Put four chocolate chips on each slice.

Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes.

I remember making these cookies with my Mom, and then with Brigid and Jamie, and then with Logan. It was always the kids jobs to put the FOUR chocolate chips on each slice of cookie dough. It's not Christmas without out them. You can also use this dough for decorated cut out cookies. I LOVE YOU MOM! Merry Christmas!
