"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

1 cup salted butter, softened

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 eggs

1-2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and baking soda in a bowl and set aside.

Combine brown sugar and softened butter in the bowl of an electric mixer. You can also use a wooden spoon! That is what I do. Mix until creamy. Add vanilla extract. Add eggs one at a time. Add dry ingredients all at once and mix well. Fold in chocolate chips.

Using your hands role out perfectly round dough balls that are exactly the size of a golf ball and place them on a cookie sheet. Place them very close together so that as many cookies balls as possible fit on the tray. Put the cookie sheet in the freezer and chill dough balls until frozen through, at least 3 hours. This step is very important or else the unfrozen cookie dough will spread all over the pan when baking. Remove the sheet from the freezer and place dough balls in Ziploc like container and place back in the freezer until ready to bake.

When ready to bake cookies, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Leave a few inches in between the cookies, giving them room to spread. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden and irresistible.

Cookie dough can be stored in freezer for up to 4 months. But truthfully I have never been able to save them for that long!!

This is by far my favourite cookie recipe of all time. I got the original from one of my favourite food blogs "Joy the Baker" . These cookies rarely make it past their cookie dough form!!
